The Menara

Ménara a series of gardens that extend over an area of 900.000m square, protected by walls of clay along 4 km. The great central basin, forming almost a lake, was built in the XIIth century by the Almohads. The Alawites Saadian another and then to give the final touches in place, especially in the person of Sidi Mohamed Ben Abderrahman in the second half of the nineteenth century. Not far from the central basin, which happens all the water channel which comes from the snowy mounts is a pavilion roof pyramid covered with green glazed tiles and with a kind of balcony from where you can enjoy a splendid panorama, especially at sunset as a thousand reflections playing in the waters of the basin. In the past, Ménara was a military training camp, but today it is one of the best known monuments in Marrakech and is visited daily by a large number of Moroccan and foreign tourists.

THE PLACE JAMMAA EL FNA

In the past, the place where those condemned to death were executed and their heads hung on the terraces to give an example. This place is more than a place, is a former director of 150m to 100m, located between the Medina and the Koutoubia which monitors the top of its minaret. It is a place where the show is continuous from morning to evening: There are troops who play folk music berbère, snake charmers and monkey trainers, the showy who read maps, boxers, children acrobats ... At night, the place is bright, it looks like a world of thousand and one nights. It turns into a great restaurant in plain-air. you can taste all the dishes and all cuisine marocaine: couscous, tagine, kebabs ... It is a gathering place and meeting people: people who go out for shopping, walking ..., tourists discover the magic of the place ... This place is always open. You can go at any time and find what you are looking for.
